Deep Cleaning Services Austin: What's Included

Deep cleaning services Austin homeowners actually need look a lot different from a standard weekly clean. If you've ever moved into a South Congress bungalow that sat vacant for six months, or tried to sell a Hyde Park house after three years of renters, you know what I mean. A regular clean skims the surface. A deep clean goes after the buildup that accumulates behind appliances, inside cabinet frames, around grout lines, and in every other spot that gets skipped during routine maintenance.

This post breaks down exactly what's included when you book a deep clean with Swept Up, room by room, so there are no surprises when we show up.

Deep Cleaning Services Austin: The Full Scope

A deep clean is not just a longer version of a standard clean. It's a different scope of work. We're targeting areas that don't get touched weekly: the inside of your oven, the top of your refrigerator, baseboards, window sills, door frames, ceiling fans, and the grime that hides behind your toilet where the floor meets the wall. This is the work that resets a home to a truly clean baseline.

Here's how we work through the house.

Kitchen

The kitchen is usually where a deep clean earns its price. In a standard clean, we wipe down the exterior of appliances and clean accessible surfaces. In a deep clean, we go further:

  • Inside the oven, including racks
  • Inside the microwave, top and bottom
  • Top of the refrigerator
  • Inside and outside of the refrigerator (if requested)
  • Cabinet fronts and hardware, including the grime that builds up around handles
  • Inside cabinets and drawers (if requested)
  • Stovetop grates and burner caps scrubbed individually
  • Backsplash tile and grout
  • Sink scrubbed and descaled, including the faucet base where mineral buildup collects
  • Baseboards and toe kicks throughout the kitchen

Austin's hard water is brutal on faucets and sink fixtures. Mineral deposits build up fast, especially if you're on the north side near the Pflugerville water table. We use appropriate descaling products that won't damage your finish.

Bathrooms

Every bathroom gets the same detailed treatment:

  • Toilet scrubbed inside bowl, under the rim, around the base, and behind the tank where dust and moisture combine into something unpleasant
  • Shower and tub scrubbed including grout lines
  • Glass shower doors descaled and squeegeed
  • Vanity and sink descaled
  • Cabinet fronts and mirror cleaned
  • Baseboards and floor edges scrubbed
  • Exhaust fan covers wiped down

In older homes, especially the craftsman bungalows in East Austin or the ranch-style houses in Allandale, tile grout can get dark fast. We do our best to restore it. We'll be honest with you if it needs regrouting instead of cleaning.

Bedrooms and Living Areas

These rooms get more attention than they do in a standard clean:

  • Ceiling fans, blades wiped on both sides
  • Baseboards hand-wiped, not just dusted
  • Window sills and tracks cleaned
  • Door frames and tops of doors
  • Light switches and outlet covers wiped down
  • Blinds or window shades dusted
  • Under furniture vacuumed and mopped where accessible
  • Furniture wiped down or vacuumed depending on surface

Laundry Room and Other Spaces

We clean the exterior of the washer and dryer, wipe down the inside of the dryer drum, clean the lint trap housing, and wipe down shelving. Garages and patios are outside our standard scope, but we can discuss add-ons when you book.

When Does a Deep Clean Make Sense?

There are a few situations where a deep clean is the right call instead of a standard clean:

  • First-time clients: We almost always recommend starting with a deep clean. It gives us a clean baseline and makes recurring maintenance cleans much more effective.
  • After a long gap: If it's been several months since the home was professionally cleaned, a standard clean won't fully catch up.
  • Seasonal resets: Many Austin homeowners do a deep clean once or twice a year, often in spring and again before the holidays.
  • Before listing a home: Real estate agents consistently tell us that a deep-cleaned home shows better and photographs better. It's a cheap investment before an open house.
  • After construction or renovation: Post-construction dust and debris needs more than a quick wipe-down. We also offer a dedicated post-construction cleaning service for renovation projects.

How Long Does It Take?

A deep clean on a typical Austin home, say 1,500 to 2,000 square feet, takes two to four hours with a two-person crew. Larger homes, homes with more bathrooms, or homes that haven't been cleaned in a long time will take longer. We price by the job, not by the hour, so you know the cost upfront before we start.

What's Not Included

A few things fall outside the standard deep clean scope: exterior windows, carpet shampooing, wall washing, inside the dishwasher, and haul-away of trash or clutter. If you need any of those, let us know when you book and we'll work through what's possible.
